Although Costa’s Mocha Italia Espresso Blend plays a leading role in our stores, we’re not just about coffee. In addition to our range of fine espresso based coffees (which are also available decaffeinated), you’ll find a selection of quality teas, soft drinks and an exciting choice of iced Frescato’s. To compliment your chosen beverage, which of course will be freshly made with TLC, we also offer a tempting array of Sandwiches, Paninis, and Tostatos and a mouth watering choice of Cakes, Muffins and Pastries. Why not try our product of the month in store.

Costa - Italian about coffee

Back in 1971, Costa was a pioneer in introducing traditional Italian methods to the roasting of espresso coffee in Britain. Initially, Costa sold to wholesalers. Later, in the early 1980’s, the first Costa shop was opened in Victoria, London. Back in 1971...Costa still retain full control throughout the traditional process – from the selection of the best quality beans through to their blending, roasting and packaging – and most importantly, in transforming this into the perfect coffee moment.

The world has a plentiful supply of coffee beans, but at Costa they only select beans of the highest quality for the creation of their unique tasting Mocha Italia Espresso Blend. Its distinct character only belongs to Costa and is celebrated worldwide.

Coffee and toasted sandwichUsing only traditional drum roasters, Costa slow roast the coffee beans for 18 to 22 minutes. Taking care over this timing is crucial to ensure that Costa meet the perfect espresso coffee profile for the Mocha Italia Espresso Blend as this is the base for their fine coffees. At every Costa, expertly trained baristas ensure that the Mocha Italia Espresso blend provides guests with the perfect coffee moment. A choice of full fat, skimmed and soya milk is available so the baristas can handcraft the coffee to your exact taste.

Rainforest Alliance

Only good beans make it into our coffee

Rain Forest Alliance logoCosta are committed to looking after the growers of our coffee and the environment. That's why, from October 2008, at least 30% of the coffee Costa use to make their unique Mocha Italia blend comes from sustainably grown beans sourced from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms. That's something no other coffee shop chain in the UK can say*.

To achieve the Rainforest Alliance Certified™ seal, farms must ensure the people who grow the coffee, and the land they grow it on, are carefully supported and sustained.

Costa is the first UK coffee shop chain to source the beans from Rainforest Alliance Certified™ farms and their plan is to acquire all their coffee from certified sustainable places as soon as possible.

So by choosing Costa coffee, you're doing your bit for coffee growers, their communities and still getting that great Costa taste. Good news all round.
